In a vibrant display of community engagement, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers in Car Nicobar highlighted the significance of nutrition as part of the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025. The event, formally launched on September 17 at the Bishop John Richardson Hospital Conference Hall, emphasized the government’s vision of ensuring maternal and child health through the Swasth Naari, Sashakt Parivar initiative.
Engaging Communities Through Skits and AwarenessThe launch featured a short skit performed by Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, creatively showcasing the importance of balanced diets and nutrition for children and mothers. Partner departments, including Health and Education, collaborated to spread awareness on maternal and child health, demonstrating a unified approach to addressing malnutrition in the region.

Community Pledge Strengthens Commitment

A key highlight of the program was the community pledge, taken by mothers and frontline workers, to collectively work towards eradicating malnutrition. This act symbolized grassroots-level commitment, reinforcing the importance of shared responsibility and participation in health and nutrition initiatives.

Similar pledges were also organized at the Diglipur project in North and Middle Andaman districts, further extending Poshan Maah activities across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Momentum for Month-Long Activities

The launch event in Car Nicobar has set the stage for a series of activities throughout the month aimed at promoting nutrition, hygiene, and health awareness. These initiatives are aligned with the central government’s larger goal of eliminating malnutrition and empowering women and families at the community level.
