Applications Open for Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards 2026

New Delhi – The Ministry of AYUSH has announced that applications are open for the Prime Minister’s Awards for Yoga – 2026, recognising exceptional individuals and institutions that have advanced the practice and promotion of Yoga in India and around the world. Guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these awards celebrate transformative contributions that have expanded Yoga’s reach, integrated it into wellness ecosystems, and promoted holistic physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Award Categories and Benefits

The awards recognise both individual excellence and institutional impact in promoting Yoga. There are two main categories:

  • Category I: Prime Minister’s Awards for Yoga – Individuals (National/International) – Two Awards
  • Category II: Prime Minister’s Awards for Yoga – Institutions (National/International) – Two Awards

Each awardee will receive a trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize of Rs. 25 lakh. The awards will be presented during the International Yoga Conference, offering global visibility for recipients.

Eligibility and Application Details

The awards aim to honour individuals and institutions with a sustained track record of promoting Yoga:

  • Applicants must possess rich experience and a deep understanding of Yoga.
  • For individuals, the minimum eligible age is 30 years.
  • A minimum of 10 years of service with notable contributions in the field of Yoga is required.

The submission window opens on 21 February 2026 and closes on 21 March 2026. The Ministry reserves the right to extend the deadline by up to 15 days if necessary. Late submissions will not be considered.

Over the past years, Yoga has seen unprecedented global engagement under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, with communities adopting preventive health practices and institutions integrating Yoga into wellness programs. The awards aim to inspire further participation, innovation, and leadership in the Yoga ecosystem, both nationally and internationally.

Applicants and nominees are encouraged to apply promptly and highlight their transformative contributions to the development and promotion of Yoga.
