Arvind Kejriwal Bail Updates: Delhi CM Visits Hanuman Temple After Release

After his release from Tihar Jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a visit to Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place today at noon. This visit follows the Supreme Court’s decision to grant him bail in the excise policy case. Kejriwal had announced his plan to visit the temple through a post on X this morning, expressing his gratitude and seeking blessings.

Speaking to AAP workers and supporters from his vehicle’s sunroof after his release, Kejriwal declared that his spirits are higher than ever. He emphasized his determination to continue battling what he described as “anti-national forces” attempting to undermine the country. Kejriwal expressed heartfelt thanks to those who supported and prayed for him during his time in custody, underscoring his commitment to national service.

Kejriwal’s legal troubles began with his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 related to a money laundering case tied to a now-revoked excise policy. He was subsequently arrested by the CBI on June 26. While he received interim bail from the Supreme Court in July for the money laundering case, he remained in judicial custody for the CBI case until his recent release. Currently, businessman Amandeep Singh Dhall is the sole person still detained in connection with the case. Notably, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan had reservations about the timing of Kejriwal’s CBI arrest, suggesting it aimed to obstruct the earlier bail granted in the ED case.
