Bengaluru Techie Suicide: Atul Subhash’s Wife’s Family Goes Into Hiding Amid Harassment Allegations

RR Team, December 12, 2024December 12, 2024

The family of Atul Subhash’s estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, has reportedly gone into hiding after being named in an FIR related to the Bengaluru techie’s suicide. According to reports, Subhash’s in-laws left their residence in Jaunpur under cover of night, fearing imminent arrest. The Bengaluru police have filed charges against them under sections 108 and 3(5) of the BNS Act. A video circulating on social media shows Subhash’s mother-in-law, Nisha Singhania, leaving the house late at night on a bike, accompanied by her son, Subhash’s brother-in-law Anurag Singhania, who also reportedly fled the scene.

When a team visited the Singhania household in Jaunpur to seek answers, they found the door locked, and the family refused to comment. The incident has sparked widespread attention, especially after the family’s aggressive response to reporters covering the story.

Atul Subhash, 34, a techie employed in Bengaluru, tragically ended his life on Monday. Before his death, he left behind a 90-minute video and a detailed 24-page suicide note in which he accused his wife and her family of continuous harassment. Subhash claimed that their actions led him to take the extreme step.

The allegations against Subhash’s wife and her family have drawn intense scrutiny, with many demanding justice. As part of the public outcry, candlelight marches have been organized across the country under the banner of “Justice for Atul Subhash.” On social media, Subhash’s posts related to men’s rights and opposition to false accusations have gained traction.

In response to the accusations, Nikita Singhania’s family has denied any wrongdoing. In an earlier statement, they expressed sorrow over Subhash’s death but maintained that they were not responsible for his tragic decision. “We are not guilty of what happened. We will present evidence to prove our innocence,” said the Singhania family, adding that they regret Subhash’s demise but stand by their actions.

As investigations continue, the case has highlighted issues of harassment and its devastating effects, sparking a nationwide conversation about mental health and the importance of addressing such grievances.
