Bharat Bodh Kendra Inaugurated at India Habitat Centre to Celebrate India’s Cultural Heritage

RR Team, May 10, 2025May 10, 2025

In a heartening tribute to India’s rich civilizational legacy, Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal today inaugurated the “Bharat Bodh Kendra” at the India Habitat Centre (IHC), Delhi. This newly established space within the Habitat Library & Resource Centre aims to offer a serene and insightful environment where visitors can immerse themselves in the vast and diverse tapestry of Indian culture.

Designed as a quiet haven for knowledge seekers, the Bharat Bodh Kendra brings together a thoughtfully curated collection of books and resources spanning Indian art, music, spirituality, philosophy, and history. It seeks not only to preserve but also to rekindle the spirit of India’s timeless traditions while engaging with the modern cultural dialogue that continues to shape the nation’s identity.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Minister, who also holds the portfolios of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, commended IHC’s ongoing commitment to cultural enrichment and sustainability. He lauded its green initiatives and urged the institution to continue setting an example by adopting and guiding other establishments toward environmentally responsible practices.

The event was also marked by a guided tour of the expansive 9-acre IHC campus. Shri Katikithala Srinivas, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and President of IHC, along with Prof. (Dr.) K. G. Suresh, Director of IHC, walked the Minister through the centre’s architectural elegance and eco-friendly features, showcasing its role as a vital platform for cultural and intellectual engagement.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including Shri Sanjay Kulshrestha, CMD of HUDCO, and Shri Sanjay Shukla, MD of NHB, alongside other senior officials from the Ministry and IHC.

The inauguration of the Bharat Bodh Kendra stands as a gentle yet powerful reminder of the importance of cultural roots in shaping a nation’s future — an initiative that speaks not only to knowledge but to the soul of India itself.
