Authorities have arrested 753 individuals and executed 13,587 non-bailable warrants since the election schedule announcement. Police, excise, income tax, customs, revenue intelligence, and enforcement directorates are working in coordination to ensure free and fair elections.
“Flying squads, surveillance teams, and video monitoring units operate round-the-clock across the state to prevent voter inducements,” said an official. “All enforcement activities are designed to avoid inconveniencing the public during inspections.”
Election Commission Deploys Observers
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has deployed 121 general observers and 18 police observers for the first phase, and 122 general observers with 20 police observers for the second phase. The two-phase elections will be held on November 6 and 11, with vote counting on November 14.
Observers are tasked with ensuring transparent polling and monitoring the implementation of initiatives aimed at voter convenience. The filing of nominations for the first phase closed on October 17, while submissions for the second phase continue until October 21.
Enhanced Vigilance Measures
The ECI has emphasized proactive monitoring by enforcement teams to curb election-related offences. Special attention is being given to prevent the use of cash, liquor, and drugs as electoral inducements.
These measures form part of a broader push to ensure that voters exercise their rights without coercion. The CEO’s office has confirmed that enforcement actions are regularly coordinated to maintain transparency and public trust throughout the electoral process.

Political leaders and parties are reminded to follow the rules strictly, with violations subject to immediate action. Notably, Janshakti Janta Dal chief Tej Pratap has already been booked for MCC violations.
