Bihar SIR Achieves 66.16% Form Collection So Far

RR Team, July 11, 2025July 10, 2025

Patna, July 11, 2025: Bihar’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls has reached a major milestone. Within just 16 days, officials have collected more than 66.16% Enumeration Forms, demonstrating a highly engaged citizenry and dedicated on-ground machinery.

More Than 5.22 Crore Forms Collected

As of 6:00 PM on July 10, over 5.22 crore Enumeration Forms have been collected from electors across Bihar. This represents 66.16% of the total 7.89 crore electors listed in the state.

This progress comes just two weeks after the Election Commission of India launched the SIR process on June 24, 2025. With 15 days still remaining until the deadline of July 25, officials expect a near-complete coverage by the end of the drive.

Massive Human Effort Behind the Numbers

The achievement has been possible due to the combined efforts of:

  • 77,895 Booth Level Officers (BLOs)
  • 20,603 newly appointed BLOs
  • Over 1.56 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) from recognised political parties
  • 4 lakh volunteers assisting senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups

Officials on the ground have been conducting house-to-house visits, verifying data, and ensuring that no eligible citizen is left behind in the revision process.

High Distribution, High Response

According to official data, nearly 98% of the printed 7.90 crore forms have already been distributed to electors whose names were on the roll as of June 24.

This shows both the efficiency of the election machinery and the commitment of citizens to keep their voter data up to date.

Why This Special Intensive Revision Matters

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a crucial pre-election activity. It ensures the accuracy and inclusivity of the electoral roll, making sure every eligible voter can participate in upcoming elections.

Through SIR, citizens can:

  • Update address or demographic details
  • Include newly eligible voters (18+)
  • Delete names of deceased or shifted individuals

This verification and collection drive enhances transparency and strengthens democracy at its core.

15 More Days to Participate

Electors in Bihar still have 15 more days to submit their filled Enumeration Forms. Officials have urged all remaining voters to come forward and cooperate with BLOs or submit the forms via designated centers.

Citizens can also connect with local electoral officers or access digital platforms for help if they haven’t received or filled out their form yet.

Momentum Indicates Full Coverage Before Deadline

Given the current pace and field enthusiasm, the SIR exercise could be completed even before the stipulated end date of July 25, 2025.

Election Commission officials are confident that this drive will achieve record-level participation and ensure a highly accurate electoral roll for the upcoming elections.

Key Highlights at a Glance

  • 66.16% Enumeration Forms collected (5.22 crore out of 7.89 crore)
  • 98% of printed forms already distributed
  • Effort led by over 1.5 lakh BLOs and BLAs
  • 15 days still remaining for form submission
  • Drive began on June 24, 2025; ends on July 25, 2025

A Testament to Democracy in Action

Bihar’s SIR performance showcases citizen awareness, administrative preparedness, and collective will. It is a powerful reminder of how robust democratic participation begins with a clean, inclusive, and verified electoral roll.

As the drive nears its final phase, both officials and citizens are pushing hard to ensure 100% coverage and error-free data for a stronger electoral process.
