BJP Unveils Jharkhand Election Manifesto: UCC with Tribal Exemptions, Reservation Boosts, and Support for Youth and Women

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched BJP’s manifesto for the Jharkhand assembly elections, promising a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) with exemptions for tribal communities and vowing to protect tribal lands from alleged illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. Shah criticized the current administration’s approach to tribal issues and promised actions such as identifying and deporting infiltrators and reclaiming tribal lands.

Key promises include increasing OBC reservation from 14% to 27% without affecting SC/ST quotas, stronger measures against recruitment exam leaks, a crackdown on illegal mining, and a “zero-tolerance” policy on crime. The manifesto also emphasizes welfare for women and youth, including subsidies on LPG, free festival cylinders, a stipend for unemployed youth, financial support for women in education, and expanding healthcare services for senior citizens.

The elections are set for November 13 and 20, with the BJP highlighting these pledges as part of a broader vision for “Jharkhandi Asmita” and economic upliftment.
