CCRAS Organizes Manthan–2025 to Boost Ayurveda Research

RR Team, October 14, 2025October 14, 2025
Lucknow, 14 October 2025: The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has commenced its two-day planning and review meeting, Manthan–2025, at the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Lucknow. The event aims to strengthen strategic research collaboration, review institutional performance, and plan for the 2026–27 financial year.

Strategic Planning and Performance Review

Manthan–2025 gathers Heads of all CCRAS Institutes along with Programme and Nodal Officers from the CCRAS Headquarters. The meeting focuses on comprehensive performance assessment, alignment of research activities, and administrative planning to ensure effective execution of the Council’s mandate.

Inaugural Address Highlights

Prof. (Vd.) Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General of CCRAS, delivering the inaugural address, stressed the importance of inter-institutional collaborations and multidisciplinary approaches to accelerate scientific progress in Ayurveda. He urged researchers to focus on translational studies that combine traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern scientific validation, enhancing credibility and global outreach.

Key Areas of Discussion

The deliberations cover diverse domains including Clinical Research, Drug Development, Pharmacology, Public Health, Medicinal Plant Research, Literary and Fundamental Research, Extramural Research (EMR), Human Resource Development, Finance, Administration, IT, Publications, and Quality Assurance. The sessions aim to strengthen coordination, streamline processes, and support evidence-based growth in Ayurveda.

CCRAS and Evidence-Based Ayurveda

Since its inception, CCRAS has been at the forefront of evidence-based Ayurvedic research. With a network of 30 peripheral institutes across India, the Council ensures safety and standardization of Ayurvedic practices, translates research outcomes into public health solutions, and contributes to global recognition of Ayurveda as a science-backed healthcare system.

Institutionalized Planning Mechanism

CCRAS has institutionalized annual meetings for systematic assessment and strategic planning. Earlier in 2025, Avalokana–2025 in Jaipur brought together senior Ministry of Ayush officials to enhance research efficiency. The current Manthan–2025 session also includes prominent attendees like Dr. Ajit Kumar Shasany, Director, CSIR-NBRI; Sh. Deepak Kocchar, Deputy Director (Administration), CCRAS; and Dr. Narayanam Srikanth, Deputy Director General, CCRAS.
