Integrated Farming and Crop Diversification
The new strategies will involve integrated farming systems and initiatives to create multiple income sources for small and marginal farmers. Modern horticulture and high-tech cultivation of fruits, vegetables, and industrial crops such as dragon fruit, blueberries, and bananas are expected to increase farmer incomes from ₹35,000–40,000 per acre to ₹1–2 lakh per acre.
Special emphasis will be placed on pulses and oilseed production, including lentils, urad, moong, arhar, mustard, groundnut, and palm oil. Procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP) will ensure stable income for farmers.
Technology-Driven Rural Development
The Agriculture Department will provide guidance on disease management, scientific pesticide use, and selection of high-yielding crop varieties. Integrated farming systems will also include animal husbandry, fisheries, horticulture, industrial crops, and organic farming, ensuring sustainable and diversified income streams.
Infrastructure and Women’s Empowerment
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, over 18 lakh houses have been sanctioned and delivered. Additionally, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has enabled construction of 10,199 roads covering nearly 48,000 kilometres and 123 major bridges.
The ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme is empowering women through 2,76,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs), with 30.68 lakh women participating and 4.32 lakh women running micro-enterprises. A total of ₹11,196.16 crore has been extended as credit support to women beneficiaries, further promoting inclusive growth.
