Chirag Paswan Backs Nitish Kumar, Reaffirms Commitment to ‘Bihar First, Biharis First’ Vision

RR Team, May 20, 2025May 20, 2025

In a clear show of unity and purpose, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Monday and extended his complete support to the NDA alliance, asserting that there is no vacancy for the Chief Minister’s post in the state. This affirmation from Chirag came after what was described as a cordial and constructive meeting, where multiple issues concerning Bihar’s development were discussed.

Chirag’s message was not just political but deeply personal. Emphasizing his emotional connection to Bihar, he reiterated his commitment to the people of the state. “I am a Bihari first,” he said, speaking at an international buyer-seller meet later that day. Reflecting on his past experiences outside the state, including working in Mumbai and living in Delhi, Chirag expressed how the struggles faced by Biharis away from home have always stayed with him. These experiences, he said, fuel his resolve to work towards making “Bihar first, Biharis first” — a vision he considers both his mission and promise.

The meeting with Nitish Kumar, according to Chirag, further strengthened this conviction. He spoke warmly of the Chief Minister’s guidance and blessings, describing them as a source of strength in his political journey. Accompanied by his brother-in-law and party MP Arun Bharti, Chirag also received encouraging words from Nitish, who reportedly acknowledged his growing role in Bihar’s future political landscape.

Later, while addressing a gathering in his parliamentary constituency of Hajipur, Chirag didn’t shy away from taking a strong moral stance. He condemned the controversial remarks made by a BJP minister from Madhya Pradesh against Colonel Sofia Qureshi. “If such a person was in my party, I would have expelled him for life,” he said firmly, underlining his deep respect for the Indian armed forces. He also reaffirmed his belief that Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds the country’s soldiers in the highest regard, and that such values remain central to the NDA’s ethos.

In a political climate often marked by shifting loyalties and uncertain alliances, Chirag Paswan’s clarity of thought and emotional connect with Bihar stands out. His words reflect not just political alignment but a genuine commitment to his roots — and to a vision of Bihar that aspires for inclusive growth, dignity for its people, and a leadership rooted in values.
