Chirag Paswan Slams Bihar Govt Over Crime Surge

Fresh Outburst Over Law and Order Crisis

Chirag Paswan, Union Minister and NDA ally, has once again taken a sharp dig at the Bihar government. His latest criticism follows a brazen daylight murder inside a Patna hospital.

On social media platform X, Paswan wrote, “Murders are happening every day. The morale of criminals is sky-high. The strategy of the police and administration is beyond comprehension.”

He emphasized that such incidents raise serious concerns about governance and public safety, especially with Bihar Assembly elections drawing near.

Chilling Murder Inside Patna Hospital

In a shocking incident, five armed men entered Paras Hospital in Patna and shot dead Chandan Mishra, a criminal out on parole. The attackers casually walked in, committed the crime, and fled the scene.

According to the police, Chandan had a history of multiple murder charges. Investigators believe the attack was likely carried out by a rival gang.

The shooting inside a well-known private hospital in a residential area has triggered public outrage and intense political reactions.

Repeated Warnings From Paswan

This is not the first time Chirag Paswan has criticized the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government. Just a few days earlier, he had asked, “How many more murders will Biharis face now?”

He highlighted that criminals are now operating without fear, and the administration’s response has been inadequate.

Deputy CM and Police Respond

Reacting to the incident, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha assured strict action. “Such an incident is unfortunate. It will be thoroughly investigated and the criminal will not be spared,” he said.

Vinay Kumar, the Director General of Police (DGP), claimed crime has actually reduced over the years. He stated, “In 2004, nearly four atrocities occurred daily. Last year, around 2,700 murders were reported, showing a decline.”

However, many critics argue that public perception and fear suggest otherwise, especially with a series of high-profile murders in recent weeks.

String of Recent Murders in Bihar

Recent victims in Bihar include:

  • Gopal Khemka – Businessman
  • Surendra Kewat – BJP Leader
  • Jitendra Mahato – Lawyer

These killings have sparked fear and raised serious doubts about the effectiveness of policing and governance in the state.

Rising Tensions Ahead of Elections

With elections nearing, law and order has become a central issue. Chirag Paswan has declared he will contest all 243 seats in Bihar, signaling a tough battle ahead.

The opposition is likely to use rising crime statistics to corner the ruling BJP-JDU alliance, making security a major election agenda.

Public Outcry and Political Pressure

Citizens and civil society groups are demanding stricter policing, better surveillance, and rapid justice. The government is under immense pressure to restore public faith.

Whether these incidents will lead to real reform or remain political talking points is something only time will tell.
