CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects in Patna: Focus on Speedy Completion

Patna, June 3 – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a detailed inspection of several major infrastructure projects in Patna on Monday, including the under-construction Mithapur-Mahuli Elevated Road and the Punpun Suspension Bridge. The CM emphasized the need for fast-tracking these projects to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity for residents.

Mithapur-Mahuli Elevated Road

CM Kumar first stopped at the Mithapur flyover roundabout to get updates on the Mithapur-Mahuli Elevated Road. Officials informed him that the four-lane elevated corridor, built over the Sipara bridge, will connect directly to Mithapur. Service roads will be added on both sides near the Mithapur railway crossing to ensure smoother local movement.

The CM stressed the importance of early completion. “This elevated road will greatly reduce traffic jams on the bypass and make travel to and from Patna more convenient,” he said. The project is expected to significantly improve travel time and ease congestion for commuters using this busy corridor.

Punpun Suspension Bridge and Ghat Beautification

After inspecting the elevated road, Nitish Kumar visited the under-construction Punpun Suspension Bridge. He also stopped at Punpun Ghat to review the beautification work being carried out there.

While interacting with local residents, the CM asked about their views on the developments. People expressed gratitude, stating that the bridge and ghat improvements had transformed the area. They acknowledged the state government’s sincere efforts in boosting the region’s infrastructure and livability.

The CM responded by noting his long-standing association with the area. “I’ve visited Punpun often and always aimed to enhance facilities here. Now, people will find it easier to reach the ghat and perform religious rituals comfortably,” he said.

Additional Inspections: Service Roads and Old Highways

The CM didn’t stop there. He also checked the progress of the service road being built near the underpass at the Bihta-Sarmera crossing point. This road will link the Bihta-Sarmera route with the Patna-Gaya-Dobhi road, creating a smoother link between key regions.

Officials explained the importance of this link in reducing travel time and easing vehicle pressure on other routes. Nitish Kumar also took stock of the condition of the older Patna-Gaya road and suggested further improvements.

Public Engagement and Development Focus

Throughout the inspection, Nitish Kumar engaged directly with people at various spots, asking about their experiences and feedback. Residents praised the improvements and expressed satisfaction with the government’s ongoing infrastructure initiatives.

These infrastructure upgrades are part of the state’s broader efforts to modernize transportation and improve the quality of life for citizens. The CM’s field visits underscore his government’s hands-on approach to ensuring timely execution of critical projects.
