In a recent podcast with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath on the “People by WTF” channel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, emphasizing humility and mission-driven politics. However, the Congress party has taken the opportunity to mock the Prime Minister, calling the remarks an attempt at “damage control.”
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, in a social media post, referenced Modi’s earlier statement during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections where the Prime Minister had described himself as “not biological but sent by God.” Ramesh quipped, “This from a man who proclaimed his non-biological status just eight months back. Clearly, this is damage control.”
During the podcast, Modi shared the principles that guided him as Gujarat’s CM: “I will leave no stone unturned in my efforts, I will not do anything for myself, and though I am human and may make mistakes, I will not act with bad intentions.” He added, “Mistakes happen. I am human, not a God.”
The Congress has frequently used Modi’s earlier statement to criticize him, branding him as “non-biological” or “divine.” The recent podcast appearance, his first, has provided further fodder for political commentary.
While Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” and TV interviews are regular features, this venture into the podcasting space marks a notable shift in engaging a younger, tech-savvy audience.
