Defence Secretary Visits NCC Republic Day Camp 2025

Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2025 at Delhi Cantt on January 17, 2025. During his address, he praised the cadets for their dedication and the vibrant performances they showcased, reflecting the dynamic spirit and creativity of India’s youth. He noted that the cadets’ efforts and commitment to excellence during the month-long camp would greatly benefit them in their future endeavors.

Key Highlights of the Visit:

  1. Recognition of Achievements
    Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh acknowledged the advancements and accomplishments of the NCC, including:

    • Digitalization of the enrollment process.
    • Electronic transfer of dress allowances.
    • Organization of camps in border and coastal areas.
    • Impressive performances in sports, shooting, and adventure activities.

    He commended the cadets for their rigorous training and active participation in numerous social service initiatives.

  2. Commitment to Supporting Cadets
    The Defence Secretary emphasized the Ministry of Defence’s dedication to supporting NCC cadets in their future pursuits. He congratulated the leadership and cadets for their exceptional efforts throughout the year.

Tour and Engagements

  • Flag Area Display: Upon arrival, Shri Singh was received by DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh. He toured the meticulously designed ‘Flag Area,’ where cadets showcased their creativity and understanding of social awareness themes through sand models.
  • Hall of Fame Visit: The Defence Secretary explored the ‘Hall of Fame,’ which highlighted NCC’s rich history and the achievements of its cadets.
  • Cultural Programme and Exhibits: He enjoyed a captivating cultural performance of group dances and songs, and concluded his visit by viewing innovative projects developed by cadets from State Directorates under the theme of ‘Idea and Innovation.’

The visit was a testament to the NCC’s pivotal role in fostering discipline, leadership, and national pride among youth. The Defence Secretary’s words of encouragement further reinforced the Ministry’s commitment to nurturing the cadets’ potential and supporting their contributions to the nation.
