Key Roads Closed to General Traffic
Several arterial routes will remain completely closed for general vehicles during the restricted hours, including:
- Netaji Subhash Marg (Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail)
- Lothian Road (GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail)
- S.P. Mukherjee Marg (H.C. Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk)
- Chandni Chowk Road (Fountain Chowk to Red Fort)
- Nishad Raj Marg (Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Marg)

Parking & Entry Restrictions

Only vehicles with authorised parking labels for the Independence Day ceremony will be allowed in the vicinity of India Gate, Red Fort, and other restricted zones. Roads to avoid include:
C-Hexagon India Gate, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House, Sikandra Road, Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, and Ring Road between Nizamuddin Khatta and ISBT Kashmere Gate.
Additional Affected Stretches
Traffic may also be impacted on Esplanade Road, Rajghat, Shanti Van, Ring Road slip road to Salim Garh Bypass, and Mahatma Gandhi Marg. Commuters should expect delays in these areas.

- Connaught Place – Minto Road – Ajmeri Gate – Shardhanand Marg – Lahori Gate Chowk – Naya Bazar
- Nizamuddin Bridge – Pusta Road – GT Road – Wazirabad Bridge
For Eastern & Western Delhi
- AIIMS Flyover – Ring Road – Ashram Chowk – Geeta Colony Flyover – Vikas Marg – Nirman Vihar – Anand Vihar
- Ashram Chowk – Laxmi Nagar – Karkardooma – Anand Vihar
- Dhaula Kuan – Naraina – Punjabi Bagh – Britannia Chowk – Wazirabad Bridge – Bhajanpura – Shahdara
Bus Movement & Restrictions
Buses heading towards Red Fort and Old Delhi Railway Station will terminate near Mori Gate, while those towards Connaught Place and Central Secretariat will stop at Shivaji Stadium. Goods vehicles are barred from Nizamuddin Khatta to Wazirabad Bridge from midnight on August 14 until 11 am on August 15. Inter-state buses will also not be allowed between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT during this period.
