Delhi to Celebrate Teej Festival on 28th July

RR Team, July 27, 2025July 26, 2025

New Delhi, July 27, 2025: India Tourism Delhi, under the Ministry of Tourism, is all set to host a vibrant celebration of the traditional Teej Festival on 28th July 2025. The event will be held at the Indiatourism office, 88 Janpath, New Delhi, bringing to life the colors, joy, and heritage of North India’s rich traditions.

Celebrating Culture, Monsoon, and Devotion

Teej marks the arrival of the monsoon and symbolizes the sacred reunion of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. It is widely celebrated by women in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab. The festival showcases rituals, traditional attire, sweets, swings, and folk arts that celebrate womanhood, prosperity, and nature’s bounty.

This year, Indiatourism Delhi aims to create a cultural extravaganza open to both domestic and international tourists. The event will foster cultural exchange and promote India’s intangible cultural heritage.

Event Highlights

The grand Teej Festival celebration at 88 Janpath will feature:

  • Traditional Rajasthani folk dances and music that capture the monsoon spirit
  • Mehndi (Henna) application booths for tourists to engage in festive traditions
  • Traditional bangles stall offering colorful accessories by local artisans
  • North Indian cuisine stalls with festive sweets like ghewar and kachori
  • Decorations reflecting the lush green Teej ambiance with swings and flowers

Open Invitation to All

The celebration is open to everyone — from Indian families to foreign tourists, and from travel bloggers to cultural explorers. This initiative not only celebrates Teej but also supports local artisans, performers, and tourism stakeholders.

Key participants include:

  • Ministry of Tourism, Government of India
  • Various State Tourism Boards
  • Tour operators, hoteliers, and travel agents
  • Certified tour guides and heritage interpreters

Why Teej Matters in 2025

In a fast-paced world, festivals like Teej allow a pause to reconnect with culture, nature, and community. According to Ministry of Tourism reports, such festivals significantly contribute to cultural tourism and women-centric travel experiences. Teej provides a perfect opportunity to showcase Indian hospitality to the global traveler.

This year’s theme focuses on cultural inclusion and sustainability. The event encourages the use of eco-friendly materials and promotes local crafts and traditions.

A Must-Attend Experience for Tourists

If you’re in Delhi or planning a visit, this is a chance to experience a unique cultural fest — all in one location. Teej is not just a ritual, it’s a mood — of joy, color, and deep-rooted spirituality.

Indiatourism Delhi invites everyone to immerse themselves in the spirit of the festival, capture Instagram-worthy moments, enjoy folk melodies, and leave with a heart full of memories.
