Delhi Traffic Advisory for AI Impact Summit 2026

The Delhi Police has announced a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of the AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held from February 16 to February 20 at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan. Authorities expect high-level participation from global leaders, ministers, and senior delegates, prompting extensive security and traffic arrangements across the national capital.

Major International Gathering at Bharat Mandapam

The five-day AI Impact Summit 2026 will take place at Bharat Mandapam, a premier international convention venue in Pragati Maidan. The event is expected to attract global policymakers, technology leaders, and representatives of international organisations.

With multiple VVIP movements anticipated during the summit period, Delhi Police has put in place special measures to ensure security and smooth mobility across key areas of the city.

Traffic Restrictions in Key Areas

According to the advisory, traffic regulations will mainly impact the New Delhi district and surrounding zones. Certain stretches will face temporary restrictions during VVIP route movements.

These include Bhairon Marg (excluding the Ring Road T-Point) and Mathura Road from Subramania Bharti Marg T-Point to Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk. During VVIP movement, general vehicular entry on these routes will not be permitted.

The police clarified that these restrictions are temporary and will be implemented only during designated movement windows.

Peripheral Expressways for Non-Delhi Traffic

Vehicles not destined for Delhi will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways and other notified alternate routes. Such vehicles will not be allowed to enter the national capital during the summit period.

The move aims to decongest central corridors and maintain seamless passage for official delegations.

Metro, Airport and Railway Access

Passengers travelling to the airport or railway stations will be facilitated, but authorities have advised commuters to plan journeys in advance and account for possible delays.

Motorists have been encouraged to prefer Delhi Metro services, particularly for airport connectivity, to avoid road congestion. Bus routes may also be temporarily diverted during VVIP movements.

Emergency Services to Get Priority

Delhi Police has assured that essential services, including ambulances and medical emergency vehicles, will receive uninterrupted priority passage throughout the summit.

The advisory emphasised that the arrangements are designed to balance security requirements with public convenience.

Public Cooperation Requested

Residents and visitors have been urged to cooperate with authorities and stay updated through official channels. Detailed traffic advisories and updates are available on the Delhi Traffic Police website and official social media handles.

The AI Impact Summit 2026 is expected to place Delhi in the global spotlight once again, reinforcing India’s growing influence in the field of artificial intelligence and digital governance. Authorities maintain that while temporary inconveniences may occur, every effort is being made to ensure minimal disruption to daily life.
