Delhi and the surrounding NCR region woke up to a dense blanket of fog on Saturday morning, reducing visibility to near zero in several areas. The heavy fog disrupted normal life, making commuting difficult for residents as vehicles moved cautiously on major roads, including the DND flyover, where conditions were particularly severe.
The biting cold accompanied by the fog made the morning even more challenging. The minimum temperature for the day was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius, contributing to the winter chill that has gripped the region over the past few weeks. Many residents, especially those dependent on daily wages and outdoor work, struggled with the harsh weather, seeking warmth in temporary shelters or around roadside bonfires.
With visibility reduced to alarming levels, authorities advised motorists to use fog lights and drive with caution to prevent accidents. Meanwhile, residents hoped for the sun to break through the fog later in the day, providing some much-needed relief from the gloomy and cold weather.
