Dept of Legislation Rolls Out Haptitude for Staff Well-being

The Legislative Department organized a special Haptitude Programme on 28 November 2025 at Shastri Bhawan, focusing on the theme “Body, Mind & Soul – effecting Thoughts, Actions, Habits, and Destiny.” The event aimed to underscore the importance of mental clarity, emotional balance, and holistic well-being for government officials.
The session was conducted by the Brahma Kumaris, a globally recognized organization known for its contribution to spiritual education and self-empowerment. The programme was chaired by Shri R.K. Pattanayak, Additional Secretary, Legislative Department, who highlighted the Department’s commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Motivational Session on Mindfulness and Inner Strength

The key attraction of the programme was an insightful motivational speech delivered by Brahma Kumari’s faculty Sister Kumari Varnika. She emphasized how thoughts shape behaviour, how behaviour forms habits, and how habits ultimately influence destiny. Her session encouraged participants to embrace value-based thinking and mindful decision-making.

Through relatable examples and practical exercises, Sister Varnika guided officers on adopting inner calm, emotional resilience, and positive habits to strengthen both personal and professional life. She also highlighted the significance of integrating simple meditative techniques and daily yoga into routine schedules.

Focus on Emotional Well-Being in Government Workspaces

Addressing the gathering, Shri R.K. Pattanayak reiterated the need for a balanced approach to work and emotional health. He spoke about the rising importance of mental well-being in high-pressure administrative roles and urged officials to consciously nurture inner strength to enhance efficiency and clarity.

He further stated that promoting a positive workplace culture is essential for long-term institutional growth and individual productivity.

Commitment to Holistic Growth of Personnel

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri K.K. Sharma, Deputy Legislative Counsel.
