In a heartfelt and engaging initiative aimed at honoring the contributions of retiring government employees, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DOPPW) organized a workshop on the National Anubhav Awards Scheme, 2025, on January 23, 2025, at CSOI, Vinay Marg, New Delhi. The event was chaired by Secretary (Pension), Shri V. Srinivas, and saw enthusiastic participation from Anubhav Nodal Officers of various Ministries, Departments, 12 Public Sector Banks, and Central Public Sector Enterprises.
The workshop served as a platform to share insights, best practices, and inspirational stories that highlighted the significance of the Anubhav Scheme. Designed to encourage retiring employees to pen down their valuable experiences, the scheme aims to create a repository of institutional knowledge that benefits not only the departments they served but also the nation at large.
Shri Dhrubajyoti Sengupta, Joint Secretary (Pension), provided an insightful overview of the scheme, stressing its inclusive nature and the new customized marking system introduced to enhance its effectiveness. He urged all departments to actively motivate their retiring personnel to share their experiences on the Anubhav portal, ensuring their wisdom continues to serve future generations.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Shri Mohammad Jamshed, former Member (Traffic) of the Railway Board and a 2023 Anubhav Awardee, who eloquently described the scheme as a powerful tool for institutional memory and nation-building. His words resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom were visibly moved by his perspective on the enduring value of personal experiences.
Adding to the meaningful discussions, Shri Anil Kumar B from VSSC, ISRO shared successful strategies implemented by the Department of Space to encourage quality write-ups. His presentation underscored how small but thoughtful initiatives can significantly boost employee engagement with the scheme.
Ms. Roopa Srinivasan, Member (Finance) of the Railway Board, highlighted the efforts undertaken by Indian Railways to streamline the Anubhav submission process. She expressed confidence in the department’s ability to further improve awareness and participation among its vast workforce.
In his concluding remarks, Secretary (Pension) Shri V. Srinivas emphasized the need to expand the scheme’s reach and impact. He shared inspiring excerpts from published write-ups and encouraged all Nodal Officers to address pending submissions promptly. His appreciation for the active involvement of Public Sector Banks was particularly noteworthy, as he attentively addressed their concerns and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to continuous improvement.
The workshop was a touching reminder of the wealth of knowledge and experience held by retiring employees and a call to action for institutions to preserve and honor these valuable contributions through the Anubhav portal.
