Mizoram Delegation Submits Community-Focused Proposals

The memorandum presented by the delegation, which included State General Secretary and former BJP National Minority Morcha member Delson, outlined a project prepared by the Social Amelioration Society. The initiative focuses on addressing social and economic challenges through structured community-level interventions designed to promote inclusive growth and active participation by local communities.

Dr Beichhua highlighted the need for government support to strengthen project implementation capacities, particularly in geographically and socio-economically challenging regions.

Dr Jitendra Singh Stresses Locally Grounded CSR Initiatives

During the interaction, Dr Jitendra Singh reviewed the delegation’s proposals and underlined that CSR initiatives must be well-conceived, locally relevant, and aligned with established frameworks. He observed that when implemented effectively, CSR interventions complement government development programs by promoting social welfare and regional progress.

The Minister praised the proactive engagement of Mizoram representatives and reaffirmed the Union government’s commitment to supporting development-oriented activities in the Northeast.

High Priority to Northeast Development

Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated the special emphasis Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi places on the North Eastern region. Highlighting that the Prime Minister has visited the Northeast, including Mizoram, nearly 80 times since assuming office a number exceeding the total visits of all his predecessors combined he affirmed that national attention and resources continue to be directed toward sustainable regional development.

CSR and Government Synergy

The meeting also reinforced the significance of CSR as a complementary mechanism to government programs. By integrating private sector support with state development plans, community projects can benefit from enhanced efficiency, better oversight, and increased social impact.

This engagement reflects the ongoing efforts by North Eastern states to collaborate with the Union government for the successful implementation of local development initiatives, ensuring that projects are tailored to meet the unique needs of communities.
