Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, chaired a significant review meeting in New Delhi, setting plans in motion to overhaul the Shram Suvidha and Samadhan portals. This modernization effort is designed to make both platforms more efficient, accessible, and beneficial for workers and employers alike.
Emphasizing the importance of this upgrade, Dr. Mandaviya remarked, Our goal with the Shram Suvidha and Samadhan portals is to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and ease of use. By implementing advanced technology and user-friendly features, we are paving the way for a smoother compliance process that ultimately safeguards and benefits India’s workforce.
Announced as part of the Union Budget 2024-25, the initiative aims to support industry and trade compliance while simplifying the user experience. The Ministry of Labour and Employment is updating the portals with new features, an optimized interface, and automation for routine tasks such as notification alerts and tracking non-compliant establishments. Users will also benefit from bilingual options, video and audio tutorials, and interactive chat support.
The revamped Samadhan portal will make it easier for users to complete tasks online, including registering bipartite settlements and filing claims for wages, gratuity, equal remuneration, and maternity benefits. Workers will be able to track the progress of their cases within the Central Government Industrial Tribunals (CGIT) and directly view daily proceedings, enhancing transparency and access to justice. Applications for permissions related to layoffs, closures, and other employment changes can now be processed online, streamlining these essential processes for workers and employers.
Shram Suvidha, on the other hand, will become a one-stop portal for Labour Law compliance, offering simplified forms for registration, returns, and licenses. This upgrade will promote smoother data sharing between enforcement agencies and automated alerts for non-compliant establishments. Advanced tools like predictive analysis and customized dashboards will also be available to support effective policy-making, ensuring that the labor system remains agile and responsive to the needs of the workforce.
With these upgrades, the Shram Suvidha and Samadhan portals are set to become invaluable tools for a more efficient, transparent, and worker-centric labor system in India.
