Elon Musk Regrets Harsh Posts About Trump Amid Cooling Feud

RR Team, June 11, 2025June 11, 2025

Elon Musk Expresses Regret Over Donald Trump Posts as Tensions Ease

Billionaire Elon Musk has expressed regret over several controversial posts he made about U.S. President Donald Trump on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), signaling a potential de-escalation in their ongoing public feud.

A Public Spat Escalated Online

The Musk-Trump dispute erupted after Musk openly criticized the Republican Party’s proposed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” calling it an “outrageous, pork-filled, disgusting abomination.” He urged GOP lawmakers to reject the bill, sparking backlash from Trump, who retaliated by calling Musk “crazy” and hinting at halting federal contracts with Tesla and SpaceX.

Tensions further escalated when Musk alleged that Donald Trump appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files, implying that was the reason for the government’s refusal to release them publicly. The post, which read:

“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files… The truth will come out.”

was deleted on June 7, following widespread media attention.

Musk’s Reversal: “Went Too Far”

On June 11, Musk posted on X:

“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”

The acknowledgment marks a rare moment of public restraint for Musk, who is known for his unfiltered and provocative online persona.

Signs of Reconciliation

Just a day earlier, Trump had softened his tone, telling reporters:

“I haven’t really thought about it actually. I would imagine he wants to speak to me… We had a good relationship, and I just wish him well.”

In response to a video clip of Trump’s comment, Musk reacted with a simple heart emoji ❤️, suggesting a thaw in relations between the two influential figures.

This symbolic gesture implies the feud may be cooling off — at least for now.

The Bigger Picture

Elon Musk’s regretful post and Trump’s reconciliatory remark reflect a shifting tone, especially as both individuals hold enormous influence over politics, technology, and public discourse. Their dispute highlighted divisions within the Republican Party and broader U.S. policy issues concerning taxation and corporate influence.

Earlier, Trump had hinted at ending NASA partnerships with SpaceX and reviewing other federal deals involving Musk’s ventures. Such threats, though not carried out, raised concerns in defense and space circles, given SpaceX’s critical role in U.S. space missions.

Conclusion

While their public falling-out captured headlines for days, this recent softening in rhetoric may indicate an effort to move past the dispute. Whether this détente holds or reignites with the 2024 U.S. election campaign heating up remains to be seen.
