Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal congratulated the graduates and urged them to establish strong connections with artisans, factory engineers, and consumers. He emphasized that India’s participation in new free trade agreements is creating global opportunities, benefiting both the industry and FDDI graduates. Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, noted that FDDI’s 12 campuses provide specialized education bridging design, technology, manufacturing, and retail, contributing significantly to industry growth.
Shri Goyal cited Swami Vivekananda’s 1897 message, emphasizing global faith in India’s youth. He highlighted the significant role of women, noting that over 70% of FDDI students are women, reflecting leadership and pride for the nation. He encouraged graduates to act as India’s brand ambassadors, promoting Indian products worldwide while carrying the aspirations of 140 crore citizens.
The Minister offered five key suggestions to the graduates: engage with rural communities to inspire innovation; explore untapped global market niches; create products that elevate India in the global value chain with premium quality and sustainability; uphold ethics, safety, and quality; and embrace Swadeshi to expand India’s footprint in international markets.
Shri Goyal also highlighted India’s economic trajectory, noting its status as the world’s fastest-growing large economy over the past four years. He pointed out that as India progresses from a 4 trillion-dollar economy to a projected 30 trillion-dollar economy by 2047, the footwear and lifestyle sector will experience immense growth, creating vast opportunities for innovation and employment.
Concluding his address, Shri Goyal invoked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India, urging the graduates to make meaningful contributions toward Viksit Bharat 2047. He encouraged them to seize opportunities, innovate responsibly, and become key players in India’s journey towards global excellence and sustainable development.
