Minister Highlights Manufacturing Growth
In his convocation address, Shri Kishan Reddy underlined India’s steady progress in manufacturing, innovation and skill development. He noted that sectors such as footwear and leather play a vital role in strengthening the country’s export capacity and employment generation.
The Minister emphasized that the footwear and leather industry contributes significantly to the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He encouraged students to embrace advanced technology, sustainable production practices and design innovation to enhance India’s global competitiveness.
Hyderabad Campus Growth Since 2018
Dr. Tej Lohit Reddy (IAS), Executive Director of FDDI Hyderabad, welcomed dignitaries and highlighted the campus’s growth since its establishment in 2018. He pointed to the development of modern laboratories, a Centre of Excellence and strengthened collaborations with industry partners.
He said the Hyderabad campus has emerged as a hub for design education and technical training, supporting the broader vision of skill development aligned with national priorities.
72 Students Graduate Across Disciplines
The Batch of 2025 comprised 72 students from various disciplines, including Fashion Design, Footwear Design, Leather Goods and Accessories Design, and Management programmes. Degrees were formally conferred in the presence of faculty members, industry representatives and proud family members.
The ceremony included the administration of the convocation oath and recognition of academic excellence through gold and silver medals. Meritorious students were honoured for their consistent performance and dedication to their respective fields.
Focus on Innovation and Sustainability
Managing Director Shri Vivek Sharma (IRS) congratulated the graduating students and reiterated FDDI’s commitment to nurturing globally competent professionals. He urged them to integrate ethical practices, sustainability and innovation into their careers.
