Financial Inclusion and Enhanced Loans
The restructured scheme increases first tranche loans up to ₹15,000, second tranche up to ₹25,000, and third tranche up to ₹50,000. Beneficiaries who timely repay their second loan can access a UPI-linked RuPay Credit Card for immediate financial needs. Additionally, digital cashback incentives of up to ₹1,200 for retail sales and ₹400 for wholesale transactions encourage adoption of digital payments.
Holistic Development and Welfare Linkages
Beyond financial support, PM SVANidhi aims to uplift street vendors by providing access to social security, welfare schemes, financial literacy, digital skills, and entrepreneurship training. Profiling of over 47 lakh vendors and linkage to more than 1.46 crore schemes has been completed under the SVANidhi se Samriddhi initiative.
Institutional Collaboration
Effective implementation relies on collaboration between the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Department of Financial Services (DFS), State Governments, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), and banks. DFS facilitates loans and credit cards, while ULBs identify vendors and assist in linking them to welfare schemes, ensuring smooth operations across the country.
Outreach Programs and Campaigns
The scheme strengthens engagement through periodic Lok Kalyan Melas and the SVANidhi Sankalp Abhiyaan, which mobilize vendors, accelerate loan disbursement, and support digital onboarding. Campaigns conducted from September 17 to October 15, 2025, across ULBs ensured maximum coverage and participation.
Recognition and Impact
PM SVANidhi has earned national acclaim, winning the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration (2023) for innovation, and the Silver Award for Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering (2022). The scheme fosters inclusive urban growth, transforming informal livelihoods into sustainable micro-entrepreneurship while improving socio-economic outcomes for street vendors and their families.
By integrating financial access, digital literacy, and welfare linkages, PM SVANidhi stands as a model for inclusive urban development, promoting resilience, self-reliance, and empowerment for street vendors across India.
