FPO Samagam 2025 Highlights India’s Farmer Empowerment

New Delhi, October 30, 2025: In a significant step towards empowering rural entrepreneurship and collective farming, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is organizing the National FPO Samagam 2025 from October 30–31 at the NCDC and NCUI Complex, Hauz Khas, New Delhi. The event celebrates the remarkable achievements made under the Government’s flagship Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) Scheme.

The Samagam aims to strengthen FPOs through collaboration, innovation, and value addition promoting farmers as producers, providers, and partners in India’s agricultural economy. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling farmers’ income and creating a resilient agri-based economy.

Over 500 Farmers, 24 States, and 267 FPOs Participate

The two-day event brings together more than 500 farmers from 24 States and 140 districts across India. Participants include Implementing Agencies (IAs), Cluster-Based Business Organizations (CBBOs), and leading FPOs showcasing their agricultural innovations.

A total of 267 FPOs are exhibiting their products, with 57 stalls displayed at the NCDC premises. These stalls feature a diverse range of products including grains, pulses, millets, spices, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, honey, coffee, tea, and dairy. Value-added items like pickles, jaggery, herbal products, and organic goods highlight the entrepreneurial transformation sweeping across India’s rural landscape.

The exhibition embodies the theme “One India  One Agriculture”, underscoring unity in diversity and the growing collective strength of Indian farmers in the global marketplace.

Technical Sessions on Innovation and Sustainable Agriculture

The National FPO Samagam 2025 features multiple technical sessions and panel discussions addressing key agricultural issues. Sessions include:

  • Oilseed Production and Value Addition
  • Water Use Efficiency and Sustainable Irrigation Practices – led by Ms. Archana Verma, AS & MD, NWM
  • Natural Farming and Market Opportunities – organized by NMNF
  • Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) – Credit and Infrastructure Development
  • Honey Production, Processing, and Marketing with NBB
  • Digital Commerce and Market Access  hosted by Flipkart
  • Fertilizer and Pesticide Management  session by HIL
  • Agmark Certification Process and Benefits session by DMI
  • Seed Production and Packaging session by NSC

A special Buyer–Seller Interaction session aims to build direct market linkages between farmers, agri-industries, and e-commerce platforms, fostering business growth and rural employment opportunities.

Recognizing Excellence and Driving Digital Empowerment

During the Samagam, high-performing FPOs, CBBOs, and Implementing Agencies will be felicitated for their excellence in farmer mobilization, business innovation, and digital enablement. The event highlights how FPOs are becoming key drivers of rural transformation through technology adoption and entrepreneurship.

The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that empowering FPOs is central to building an inclusive agricultural ecosystem one that integrates sustainability, digital commerce, and financial inclusion. This approach also ensures that small and marginal farmers gain fair access to markets, inputs, and institutional credit.

By promoting collaborative business models, the FPO initiative continues to transform the agricultural value chain and strengthen India’s rural economy. The National FPO Samagam 2025 reaffirms the Government’s commitment to fostering a self-reliant, globally competitive agri-sector rooted in innovation and inclusivity.
