Good Governance Week 2025 Ends with Record Nationwide Impact

RR Team, December 26, 2025December 26, 2025
The nationwide ‘Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore’ campaign under Good Governance Week 2025 concluded successfully on December 25, delivering measurable improvements in public service delivery, grievance redressal and citizen engagement across India.

Organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the week-long initiative was held from December 19 to December 25, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to transform governance into a people-centric Jan Andolan.

Prime Minister’s Vision Drives Nationwide Participation

In his message issued on December 9, 2025, the Prime Minister urged all stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to inclusive, seamless and future-ready governance. The message set the tone for Good Governance Week, aligning it with India’s long-term goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Acting on this vision, Good Governance Week was implemented across all 36 States and Union Territories, with focused activities at district and tehsil levels.

Unprecedented Outcomes Across Districts

The scale of citizen engagement during Good Governance Week 2025 was reflected in its outcomes. Over 3.13 crore service delivery applications were disposed of, significantly reducing pendency and improving access to essential government services.

Public grievance redressal also saw major progress, with more than 41.68 lakh grievances resolved through State grievance portals and over 3.53 lakh cases addressed on the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS).

57,000 Camps and Best Practices Identified

As part of the ‘Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore’ initiative, more than 57,000 workshops and special camps were organised across districts to address citizen issues on the ground.

Administrations documented 770 best governance practices and 596 success stories related to grievance resolution. Additionally, 254 districts submitted Vision Documents for District@100, outlining long-term development roadmaps.

National Workshop Highlights Governance Legacy

A National Workshop on Good Governance Practices was held at the Civil Services Officers’ Institute (CSOI), New Delhi, on December 25. The workshop began with a welcome address by Ms Rachna Shah, Secretary, DoPT, DARPG and DPPW.

She highlighted the observance of Good Governance Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and recalled his enduring legacy of transparency, accountability and citizen-centric governance.

Dr Jitendra Singh Launches Digital Initiatives

The workshop was chaired by Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, who released three major reports and launched four new digital governance initiatives.

These included assessment reports on Special Campaign 5.0, the Annual CPGRAMS Report, a consolidated compendium on reservation guidelines for ex-servicemen, and AI-enabled tools such as the Recruitment Rules Generator, e-HRMS 2.0, enhanced iGOT Karmayogi features and Karmayogi Digital Learning Lab 2.0.

Sharing Best Practices Nationwide

To ensure wider dissemination, select best governance practices submitted by districts and States will be uploaded on the Abhinav Pahal Portal, enabling replication across the country.
