Vande Bharat to Soon Run on Patna-Gaya Route

RR Team, October 6, 2024June 24, 2025

In exciting news for the people of Bihar, especially those planning to travel during the festive season of Durga Puja, Chhath Puja, and Diwali, Indian Railways is gearing up to launch four new Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat trains. These special trains are designed to accommodate the high passenger demand between the national capital and major cities in Bihar, such as Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, and Patna.

The influx of passengers traveling from New Delhi to Bihar during this time has led the Railway Board to prepare for the launch of one Vande Bharat or Amrit Bharat train on each of the routes connecting Delhi to Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, and Patna. Although the railway authorities have not yet officially confirmed the specific details, preparations are underway.

Special Vande Bharat Trains: Route Details

These special trains will feature 22 compartments, including 13 sleeper coaches and 7 standard compartments, to ensure comfortable travel for passengers. The festive train services are scheduled to begin on October 4, 2024, and will continue until January 31, 2025. Train 05585 will depart from Raxaul every Friday, while train 05586 will leave from the Lokmanya Tilak Terminal every Sunday at 4:35 PM.

Chief Minister’s Request for New Vande Bharat Route

In a related development, Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the introduction of a new Vande Bharat train connecting Sitamarhi in Bihar with Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. This proposed route aims to facilitate easier travel for devotees visiting two important religious sites: Punaura Dham Janki Mandir in Sitamarhi and Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Both locations hold significant spiritual value, and the proposed train service would cater to the large number of pilgrims who frequent these sacred places.

The new Vande Bharat trains are expected to significantly improve travel convenience for residents of Bihar, especially during the busy festive period, while also supporting religious tourism between Sitamarhi and Ayodhya.
