IGNCA to Inaugurate ‘Mann ki Baat’ Art Exhibition on Sept 16

RR Team, September 16, 2025September 16, 2025
The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Kaladarsana Division, will host the inauguration of a special art exhibition titled ‘Mann ki Baat’ on 16 September 2025 at 4:00 PM in the Samvet Auditorium, IGNCA, New Delhi. The exhibition draws inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular monthly radio program Mann ki Baat and features a series of paintings by eminent senior artist Shri Manjit Singh.

Curated by Prof. (Dr.) Richa Kamboj, Head of the Kaladarsana Division, the exhibition is designed to bring alive themes of nation-building, cultural pride, and collective consciousness. Each painting reflects an artistic interpretation of the messages conveyed by the Prime Minister in his widely followed radio broadcast.

Dignitaries at the Inaugural Event

The inaugural ceremony will be graced by Smt. Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi, as the Chief Guest. Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, Padma Bhushan awardee and President of IGNCA, will also be present at the event. Ms. Lily Pandeya, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, will attend as the Special Guest of Honour. The event will be chaired by Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of IGNCA.

Their participation highlights the importance of cultural dialogue and government support for initiatives that blend tradition, creativity, and modern expression. The exhibition not only celebrates art but also underlines the significance of Prime Minister Modi’s radio program as a medium for social engagement and national inspiration.

Exhibition Schedule and Venue

Following the inauguration, the exhibition will remain open to the public from 17 to 22 September 2025 at Darshnam I & II, IGNCA. Visitors can view the artworks daily between 10:30 AM and 6:30 PM. The exhibition aims to attract art enthusiasts, cultural scholars, and the general public, offering them a chance to witness a unique artistic perspective on one of India’s most influential communication platforms.

The IGNCA, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, has been a hub of cultural promotion and preservation. With this exhibition, it continues its mission of fostering dialogue between art, society, and governance. More details can be found on the PIB website.

Art, Culture, and National Expression

The exhibition is expected to generate wide public interest as it showcases how traditional visual art can interpret contemporary social narratives. Manjit Singh’s works, deeply rooted in Indian aesthetics, interpret themes of unity, development, and cultural pride often highlighted in Mann ki Baat. His paintings aim to connect with both art connoisseurs and common citizens.

This effort reflects the broader cultural strategy of the Ministry of Culture, which continues to support projects that bridge India’s rich heritage with modern expressions. By hosting such exhibitions, IGNCA strengthens its position as a key cultural institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Indian arts.
