Delhi, Maharashtra Rain Alert: IMD Forecasts Heavy Rains

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR today, forecasting wet spells till June 23. Additionally, orange alerts have been issued in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and seven other states, predicting isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall between June 20 and June 25.

According to IMD’s latest weather bulletin, heavy rainfall is likely in the following states:

The department has highlighted very heavy rainfall for East Madhya Pradesh on June 21 and Bihar, West Bengal, and Jharkhand on June 20. Rainfall activity is expected to intensify further in Madhya Pradesh on June 24 and 25.

Delhi-NCR: Yellow Alert In Effect

Delhi residents can expect generally cloudy skies with very light to light rain accompanied by gusty winds (30-40 kmph). The maximum temperature will hover between 36-38°C, while the minimum will stay around 27-29°C.

RWFC New Delhi has warned residents to remain cautious of thunderstorms and lightning expected during late evenings.

Monsoon Advances Across India

The monsoon has made significant progress over central and eastern India. According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall is likely across Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat till June 25. Coastal districts are particularly vulnerable to flooding during this period.
