India-AI Impact Summit 2026: Driving Innovation for All

RR Team, January 20, 2026January 21, 2026
The India–AI Impact Summit 2026, the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, will take place from 16–20 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Anchored on three foundational pillars People, Planet, and Progress the Summit will bring together policymakers, technology leaders, researchers, and innovators to explore the transformative potential of AI for inclusive development, sustainable growth, and social impact.

AI for India: Transforming Lives and Economy

Artificial Intelligence is driving India’s development journey by improving governance, healthcare, education, agriculture, finance, and public services. AI enables personalized learning, telemedicine access in rural areas, precision agriculture, financial inclusion, and enhanced public service delivery. Multi-lingual and multi-modal AI applications are being developed to cater to India’s diverse population, ensuring equitable access to technology across urban and rural regions.

Summit Structure: Sutras and Chakras

The Summit’s deliberations are structured around three guiding principles, or Sutras, and seven thematic Chakras. The Sutras People, Planet, and Progress highlight AI’s role in societal empowerment, sustainable development, and economic advancement. The seven Chakras include Human Capital, Inclusion for Social Empowerment, Safe and Trusted AI, Resilience and Innovation, Science, Democratizing AI Resources, and AI for Economic Growth & Social Good.

These frameworks facilitate global collaboration, ethical AI deployment, and equitable access to AI resources, ensuring measurable social and economic outcomes for India and the Global South.

Flagship Events and AI Challenges

The India AI Impact Expo will host over 400 exhibitors across seven thematic pavilions, attracting more than 1.5 lakh visitors. Key events include:

  • AI for ALL: Global Impact Challenge – Showcasing AI solutions with large-scale societal impact in partnership with Startup India, with awards up to INR 2.50 crore.
  • AI by HER: Global Impact Challenge – Promoting women-led AI innovations, implemented with NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform.
  • YUVAi: Global Youth Challenge – Encouraging youth aged 13–21 to create AI-enabled solutions for real-world problems, with prizes worth up to INR 85 lakh.
  • Research Symposium on AI – A knowledge-sharing platform featuring international and Global South research on AI impact, hosted with IIIT Hyderabad as knowledge partner.

Institutional Support and Frameworks

The Summit is anchored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the IndiaAI Mission, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), and the Digital India Initiative. These institutions provide policy guidance, technical support, and infrastructure to facilitate responsible AI adoption, startup participation, and large-scale digital deployment across sectors.

Expected Outcomes

The India–AI Impact Summit 2026 aims to strengthen India’s AI ecosystem, support practical applications in healthcare, agriculture, education, finance, and governance, and promote responsible and inclusive AI growth. The Summit will expand collaboration between government, academia, industry, and startups, positioning India as a global hub for AI innovation while delivering measurable social and economic impact.
