India and Indonesia reaffirmed their partnership by agreeing to deepen bilateral ties and explore new avenues of collaboration, particularly in defense manufacturing and supply chains. The discussions took place during wide-ranging talks hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in New Delhi on January 25, 2025.
The visit, spanning three days, marks President Subianto’s role as the chief guest at India’s Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025. The ceremonial reception for the Indonesian President at Rashtrapati Bhavan, attended by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi, symbolized the close diplomatic ties between the two nations.
This partnership signifies India’s ongoing commitment to fostering strong relationships with ASEAN countries while fortifying its presence in the Indo-Pacific.
