India-Germany Trade Ties Strengthened by Piyush Goyal

RR Team, October 24, 2025October 24, 2025
Berlin, Germany: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal held a series of high-level meetings in Berlin on October 24, 2025, to further strengthen India-Germany trade and investment ties. His discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in areas including technology, green energy, advanced manufacturing, and skilling, building on a previous video conference held on August 7, 2025.

Meeting with German Economy Minister

Shri Goyal met German Federal Minister for Economy and Energy, Ms. Katherina Reiche, to explore ways to deepen bilateral economic engagement. The discussions emphasized expanding trade, boosting investment flows, and leveraging technological collaboration to advance sustainable development goals.

The Indian Minister also held talks with Dr. Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery and Germany’s G7 & G20 Sherpa, focusing on strategic initiatives to strengthen economic relations between the two nations.

Roundtable with German Mittelstand Companies

Later, Shri Goyal chaired a Roundtable with CEOs and leaders of German Mittelstand companies at the Indian Embassy. The discussions highlighted India’s investment opportunities and government measures to facilitate ease of doing business. German companies expressed strong interest in expanding existing investments and exploring new business avenues.

The roundtable explored synergies in innovation, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing, underlining the potential for robust business-to-business linkages between Indian and German firms.

Engagements with German Industry Leaders

During the day, Shri Goyal was scheduled for one-on-one meetings with CEOs of leading German corporations including Infineon Technologies, Schaeffler Group, Renk, Herrenknecht AG, Enertrag SE, and Mercedes Benz Group. Additionally, he is set to meet Mr. Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg.

These engagements are aimed at strengthening industrial collaboration, investment in green technologies, and enhancing bilateral trade relationships in strategic sectors.

Looking Ahead: Berlin Global Dialogue

Shri Goyal’s schedule continues on October 24 with participation in a panel discussion at the Berlin Global Dialogue, followed by further meetings with German industry associations. These interactions are expected to reinforce India’s position as a preferred investment destination while deepening Indo-German economic and technological partnerships.
