India and Mongolia Strengthen Defence Ties as Nomadic Elephant 2025 Concludes
The 17th edition of the India-Mongolia Joint Military Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT concluded on 13 June 2025 in Ulaanbaatar, marking yet another significant milestone in India’s expanding defence diplomacy.
Held over two weeks, the exercise saw active participation from 45 personnel of the Indian Army, primarily from the ARUNACHAL SCOUTS battalion, and their Mongolian counterparts.
Strengthening Interoperability and Strategic Trust
The joint military drill focused on enhancing interoperability between Indian and Mongolian forces under United Nations peacekeeping mandates. Troops operated in semi-urban and mountainous terrains, simulating semi-conventional combat scenarios.

Addressing the soldiers, the Defence Secretary praised the professionalism, dedication, and discipline of the Indian contingent. He stated:
