Letter of Intent on Defence Cooperation

During the meeting, a Letter of Intent (LoI) on Defence Cooperation was exchanged between Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh and the Netherlands’ Ambassador to India, Ms. Marisa Gerards, in the presence of the two Ministers. This agreement sets the stage for exploring defence cooperation in identified areas and developing a Defence Industrial Roadmap for technology collaboration, co-production, and co-development of platforms and equipment.

Focus on Technology and Industry Collaboration

The Defence Ministers also noted that people-to-people ties between India and the Netherlands are strong, with a large Indian diaspora serving as a living bridge that strengthens bilateral friendship and cooperation.

Strategic Significance

The meeting underscores India and the Netherlands’ commitment to developing a resilient defence partnership in line with shared strategic interests.
