India Reviews Haj 2026 Preparations in Madinah

As part of proactive preparations for Haj 2026, Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar, visited the Indian Haj Pilgrims Office (IHPO) in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to assess arrangements for Indian pilgrims. The visit underscores the Government of India’s commitment to ensuring safety, comfort, and a seamless experience for Hajis from India.

On-Ground Assessment of Pilgrim Facilities

During the visit, Dr. Kumar inspected key facilities, including pilgrim accommodations and medical services in Madinah. The assessment focused on ensuring quality services, safety, and convenience for Indian Hajis. The delegation held bilateral meetings with the Saudi Haj Ministry to strengthen coordination and operational efficiency.

Dr. Kumar was accompanied by prominent officials, including Consul General of India, Jeddah, Shri Fahad Ahmad Khan Suri, Joint Secretary (Haj), Shri Ram Singh, CEO of Haj Committee of India, Shri Shahnavas, and Director (Haj), Shri Nazeem Ahmed. Haj Consul at the Consulate General, Ms. Sadaf Choudary, briefed the delegation on ongoing preparations and coordination with Saudi authorities.

Dr. Kumar emphasized that the Government of India remains fully committed to facilitating Indian Haj pilgrims through advance planning and continuous monitoring. Highlighting the Ministry’s digital initiatives, he noted that the Haj Suvidha App provides transparent and efficient services, enhancing convenience and a pilgrim-centric experience.
