Birth Anniversary Celebrations at Suttur Math
Shri Chouhan will commence his day-long visit by attending the 110th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji at Suttur Math in Mysuru. He will participate in a tree plantation programme and engage with devotees, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation alongside cultural observances.
Visit to ICAR Institutions in Bengaluru
Later, the Minister will visit ICAR institutes in Bengaluru, beginning with the National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources (ICAR–NBAIR). Activities include a tree plantation, viewing the National Insect Museum and Live Insect Repository, and exploring exhibitions of cutting-edge biological pest control technologies.
Engagement with NIVEDI
In the afternoon, Shri Chouhan will visit the National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (NIVEDI). Here, he will review the institute’s activities, particularly contributions to national animal health and disease control programmes such as PPR, Brucellosis, CSF, FMD, and LSD. Discussions will focus on disease forecasting systems, economic impact assessments, and One Health initiatives.
The Minister will also interact with farmers, livestock rearers, startup entrepreneurs, and scientists, addressing a workshop for livestock rearers and engaging with progressive farmers who have leveraged NIVEDI’s technologies to enhance their livestock enterprises.
Review of ICAR Achievements
Shri Chouhan will conclude the visit by meeting directors of ICAR institutions in Bengaluru to evaluate their progress and achievements. The visit underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive agricultural and livestock development while fostering innovation and knowledge exchange in the farming sector.
