The event will be hosted by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, and attended by the Governor and Chief Minister of Kerala, Union and State ministers, senior defence officials, and thousands of spectators expected to gather along the iconic beachfront. The Indian Navy continues its tradition of taking Navy Day commemorations beyond major naval stations, following successful editions at Puri in Odisha and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra.

A Powerful Display of India’s Maritime Strength

Op Demo 2025 will bring together an impressive array of indigenous naval platforms, warships, fighter aircraft, maritime patrol jets, helicopters and a submarine. The demonstration aims to highlight India’s rapidly growing maritime capabilities and its commitment to safeguarding national interests in the Indian Ocean Region. Visitors will witness coordinated manoeuvres by warships, high-speed passes by fighter aircraft, combat free fall jumps, slithering operations, and precision firing sequences executed at sea and along the coastline.
These demonstrations are designed not only to enthral audiences but also to showcase the high level of preparedness and operational synergy that defines the Indian Navy’s approach to modern maritime security. Displays of amphibious operations, special forces interventions and aerial coordination between naval aircraft and ships will further underline the force’s all-domain operational expertise.
A Celebration of India’s Aatmanirbhar Maritime Vision
A key focus of this year’s demonstration is the highlighting of indigenous defence manufacturing as part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Many of the participating platforms represent advanced Indian engineering, reflecting the Navy’s strong push toward self-reliance.
The event will also showcase the Indian Navy’s operational effectiveness as demonstrated in recent missions, including Operation Sindoor, reinforcing its readiness to respond to emerging maritime challenges. The Navy’s contribution to MAHASAGAR—India’s vision for Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions—will also be a core theme of the demonstration.
Through collaborative engagement, humanitarian missions and maritime partnerships, India continues to strengthen its status as the “Preferred Security Partner” in the Indian Ocean Region, ensuring safe passage for global commercial shipping and protecting vital sea lanes.
Cultural Performances and Grand Finale
The celebrations will continue into the evening with a series of vibrant shore-based activities. Spectators can look forward to a traditional beating retreat ceremony by the Southern Naval Command Band, a mesmerizing continuity drill, a hornpipe dance by the Sea Cadet Corps and a spectacular fireworks display to close the event.
The blend of military precision and cultural heritage promises an experience that resonates with Kerala’s rich maritime legacy and India’s evolving naval identity.
