
Robust Special Train Schedule During Festive Season

Alongside regular services, Indian Railways has operated 4,493 special train trips over the past 21 days, averaging 213 trips daily, facilitating timely travel for passengers returning home for Diwali celebrations. This year, from 1st October to 30th November 2025, over 12,000 special trains will run nationwide, a significant increase from 7,724 trains last year, showcasing Railways’ commitment to smooth festive travel.

Enhanced Passenger Experience and Safety Measures
On 19th October, Indian Railways managed over 36,000 passengers at Udhna station — a 50% increase from the previous year — with all passengers boarding by 4 PM, ensuring timely arrival for Diwali. Measures included dedicated holding areas, multiple ticket counters, and crowd management systems. Over five days, more than 1.2 lakh travelers passed through the station.
Passengers praised the cleanliness, organized platforms, courteous staff, and RPF vigilance. Travelers from Bengaluru to Kolkata commended efficient coach management, orderly queueing, and timely operations. At Ahmedabad Railway Station, special assistance was extended to disabled and sick passengers for smooth boarding and travel.
