Enhanced Passenger Facilities
According to Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway (ECR), major stations have been upgraded with better holding areas and passenger amenities. Patna Junction now accommodates up to 7,500 passengers, Rajendra Nagar Terminal up to 1,200, and Danapur station up to 4,500, ensuring smoother management during the festival rush.
Abhinav Siddarth, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Danapur, emphasized that these enhancements aim to ensure crowd safety and a seamless travel experience while infusing the journey with the spirit of devotion and tradition.
Special Trains for Chhath Travelers
To manage the high passenger traffic, Indian Railways is operating 6,181 special trains, with an additional 900 scheduled over the next three days. These initiatives are designed to provide convenient travel options and accommodate the surge of homebound passengers during the Chhath festival.
Festive Atmosphere at Stations
The combination of Chhath songs, decorated station premises, and upgraded passenger facilities has created a joyful and traditional ambiance. Travelers heading home for the sacred festival can experience the cultural essence even before reaching their hometowns.
Stations such as Sonepur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, and Rajendra Nagar Terminal have also received similar upgrades, enhancing the overall festival experience for thousands of passengers.
