India’s Rise as 4th Largest Economy Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour in Dibrugarh

RR Team, May 25, 2025May 26, 2025

In a heartfelt tribute to India’s ongoing journey of development, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, celebrated the nation’s recent achievement of becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy. Addressing citizens in Dibrugarh during a “Tiranga Yatra” and a public listening session of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat,” Sonowal expressed pride in the country’s transformation under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, whose stewardship, he said, has inspired millions across the nation.

“The progress we see today is a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s unwavering commitment to the people of India,” said Sonowal. “From economic reforms to social empowerment, his leadership has laid the foundation for a ‘Viksit Bharat’—a developed, self-reliant India.”

The Minister called on people from all walks of life to join in the nation-building effort, urging them to draw inspiration from the stories of courage, innovation, and perseverance shared in “Mann Ki Baat.” He described the Prime Minister’s monthly radio address as a powerful tool that connects hearts across India and instills a renewed sense of purpose and unity.

Participating in the Tiranga Yatra, Sonowal honored the brave soldiers of Operation Sindoor, crediting their sacrifice and the Prime Minister’s firm resolve for the mission’s success. The march, steeped in patriotic emotion, also saw the Minister stopping to interact with rickshaw pullers and daily wage workers—India’s shramiks—offering gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for their vital role in the nation’s progress.

“The strength of India lies in the hands of these hardworking individuals,” Sonowal remarked with emotion. “Their silent resilience, their tireless service—often unrecognized—are what truly build this nation. Their smiles, even in the face of adversity, are a powerful reminder of the spirit of India. Under the Modi government, we remain fully committed to their welfare and upliftment.”

In a moment steeped in cultural reverence, Sonowal later unveiled a full-sized statue of Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha Dev, a revered Matak king, at Koilabari in Sadiya. The event brought together community leaders, cultural figures, and citizens to celebrate the legacy of a ruler whose name is synonymous with justice, public service, and devotion to the motherland.

“Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha Dev’s life is a guiding light,” said Sonowal. “His leadership reminds us of the values that define a great nation—compassion, courage, and a deep sense of responsibility. I urge the youth of our country to take inspiration from his legacy as they shoulder the task of building a brighter future.”

The day’s events were attended by several dignitaries including Assam Government Ministers Ranoj Pegu and Prashanta Phukan, MLAs Ponakan Baruah and Binod Hazarika, ATDC Chairman Rituparna Baruah, ASWC Chairperson Hemprabha Barthakur, SKAC CEM Tankeswar Sonowal, MAC CEM David Chetia, and other community and party leaders.

As the celebrations concluded, there was a palpable sense of pride and purpose in the air—a reaffirmation of the belief that India’s path to greatness is forged not just by policy, but by the unity, labor, and hope of its people.
