Government Initiatives for Senior Citizens
In his address, Shri Virendra Kumar highlighted flagship schemes of the Ministry. Under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY), assistive devices for mobility, vision, and hearing have been distributed to over 7.28 lakh senior citizens. The Elderline 14567 helpline has received more than 27 lakh calls, offering guidance and emergency support. The Minister also stressed the importance of celebrating grandparents’ day in schools to nurture intergenerational respect.
