Iran Vows Response to US Strikes on Nuclear Sites

RR Team, June 22, 2025June 22, 2025

Iran’s Strong Reaction to US Airstrikes

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned the recent US strikes on its nuclear facilities, calling them “outrageous” and a grave violation of international law.

“Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people,” Araghchi declared during the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Istanbul. He emphasized that the strikes breached the UN Charter and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Details of the Strike

On Saturday night, the United States launched coordinated strikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities—Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow. President Donald Trump announced that the goal was to “completely and totally obliterate” Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities.

The Pentagon stated that these actions were intended to neutralize what the US calls “the world’s No. 1 state sponsor of terror.” Trump added that any Iranian retaliation would be met with even greater force.

Iran’s Official Response

Despite the heavy strikes, Iranian officials claimed there were no signs of radioactive contamination or significant structural damage. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran assured citizens that its nuclear ambitions would continue undeterred.

“Enemies will not be able to halt our scientific development,” said the AEOI in a public statement, adding that thousands of experts are working to preserve the country’s peaceful nuclear program.

Global Implications

Araghchi warned that the incident sets a dangerous precedent. “Every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the strikes as a step toward long-term peace. “These actions will help lead the Middle East and beyond to a future of prosperity,” he said.

Escalating Tensions in the Region

These strikes mark a major escalation in the already volatile situation between Israel, the US, and Iran. The international community is watching closely to see whether Tehran will retaliate or choose the path of diplomacy.

Iran has warned of “everlasting consequences” for both Israel and the United States if further provocations occur. Security agencies across the Gulf have raised threat levels as a precaution.

What’s Next?

Experts remain divided. While some predict a calibrated Iranian response, others warn of potential proxy attacks across the region.

With diplomatic channels narrowing, the UN Security Council is expected to hold an emergency session. China and Russia have already called for restraint and dialogue.
