To bolster digital resilience, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with NeGD and CERT-In, conducted a 2-day state-level workshop titled “CCMP Workshop and Cybersecurity Exercise” at SKICC, Srinagar, from June 16–17, 2025.

🎯 Focus: Cyber Resilience Across Departments

The program aimed to equip key officials — including Administrative Secretaries, CISOs, ISOs, and nodal officers — with critical cybersecurity knowledge and crisis response capabilities.

Hon’ble IT Minister of J&K Shri Satish Sharma inaugurated the workshop and emphasized cybersecurity’s central role in delivering secure and trustworthy governance. He termed the event a vital step toward a secure digital governance structure.

🗣️ Expert Insights and Encouragement

Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS, IT Secretary, welcomed attendees and stressed that cybersecurity is a “pillar of good governance” in today’s digital age. He urged officials to work towards resilient systems and enhanced public trust.

Shri Saurabh Bhagat, IAS, delivered a keynote on evolving cyber threats and encouraged cross-departmental cooperation. He called for more training initiatives and termed participants as “cyber warriors” of tomorrow’s administration.

💡 Workshop Activities & Discussions

The workshop combined interactive sessions, practical exercises, and policy briefings. These focused on identifying vulnerabilities, building response strategies, and implementing the Cyber Crisis Management Plan (CCMP) effectively across departments.

Participants actively engaged in table-top exercises, simulations, and shared experiences around threat landscapes. The emphasis was on practical learning and collaboration.

🏁 Valedictory Session & Key Takeaways

Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General, CERT-In, addressed the closing ceremony. He highlighted the shift from reactive defense to proactive cyber resilience. He called on departments to conduct regular drills, adopt CCMPs, and join national cybersecurity initiatives.

Dr. Singla delivered the final remarks and Ms. Mahima Madan, IAS, CEO of JaKeGA, gave the vote of thanks, applauding the collaborative spirit and participation across departments.

🌐 Aligning with Digital India Goals

This capacity-building exercise supports Digital India by improving cybersecurity readiness in UT-level administration. The initiative also builds citizen trust in digital governance systems through better preparedness and response.

In light of increasing cyberattacks on public systems, such workshops play a vital role in training officials, improving inter-agency coordination, and building secure digital infrastructure at the grassroots level.
