Every year, Kaal Bhairav Jayanti is celebrated on the Ashtami tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the Margashirsha month. This day honors Lord Kaal Bhairav, the protector of Kashi and an incarnation of Lord Shiva. While some will celebrate today, others will observe it tomorrow due to variations in the Panchang. Legend says that Lord Kaal Bhairav manifested on this auspicious day. Worshipping him with proper rituals can fulfill your desires.

When to Worship: Best Muhurat for Kaal Bhairav Jayanti 2024

According to the Panchang, the Ashtami tithi will begin at 6:07 PM on November 22 and last until 7:56 PM on November 23. Kaal Bhairav Puja is generally done at night. Therefore, those observing the Pradosh Vrat will worship today, while those following the Udaya Tithi will do so on November 23.

Here’s a breakdown of the auspicious muhurta for worship:

November 22 – Worship Muhurat

  • Chara (Normal): 6:50 AM to 8:09 AM
  • Labh (Progress): 8:09 AM to 9:28 AM
  • Amrit (Best Time): 9:28 AM to 10:48 AM
  • Shubh (Auspicious): 12:07 PM to 1:27 PM

November 23 – Worship Muhurat

  • Amrit (Best Time): 2:46 PM to 4:05 PM

Kaal Bhairav Jayanti Puja Vidhi (Rituals)

To properly celebrate Kaal Bhairav Jayanti, follow these steps:

  1. Cleanse yourself with a bath and tidy the temple or worship area.
  2. Perform an abhishek (ritualistic bathing) of Lord Shiva using water.
  3. Offer Panchamrit (milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, and sugar) and Ganga water to Lord Shiva.
  4. Present white sandalwood and white flowers as offerings.
  5. Light a ghee lamp in the temple.
  6. Recite the Shri Kaal Bhairav Chalisa with devotion.
  7. Perform the Aarti of Lord Shiva with complete faith.
  8. Offer kheer or dry fruits as Bhog to Lord Bhairav.
  9. Finally, pray for forgiveness and seek blessings.
