Rajanna has claimed that he, too, was targeted in this widespread operation. The controversy unfolded after BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal alleged that certain individuals were honey-trapping legislators in an attempt to influence political power dynamics, particularly with an eye on the chief minister’s position. Rajanna further revealed that evidence of honey-trapping exists in the form of pen drives involving leaders across party lines, including national-level politicians. Seeking swift action, he announced plans to submit a formal complaint to Home Minister G. Parameshwara, urging a thorough investigation.
