Kaushal Rath is envisioned as a moving classroom that brings technology to the doorstep of learners who may otherwise lack access to structured AI training and digital infrastructure.

Mobile AI Lab with Hands-On Learning

The Kaushal Rath is a fully equipped mobile computer laboratory fitted with internet-enabled systems, audio-visual learning tools, and structured training modules. It is designed to travel to schools, colleges, ITIs, and community spaces.
Participants will receive hands-on exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI tools through guided sessions conducted by trained facilitators. The curriculum incorporates contextualised Indian use cases to help learners understand real-world applications of AI.
This approach is intended to demystify AI and present it as an accessible and practical technology rather than a specialised or elite skill.
Flagged Off from India Gate
The initiative was formally flagged off from India Gate, New Delhi, by Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Jitin Prasada.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister said the programme reflects the government’s commitment to building an AI-ready India through inclusive digital capacity building and responsible adoption of emerging technologies.
He emphasised that Kaushal Rath will travel across regions to familiarise young people with the uses and benefits of AI, ensuring that awareness and opportunity transcend geographical and demographic barriers.
Precursor to India AI Impact Summit 2026
The Minister also described the initiative as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in New Delhi next week. India will host the summit for the first time in the Global South.
The summit, to be held at Bharat Mandapam from February 16 to 20, 2026, will focus on translating global AI deliberations into development-oriented outcomes aligned with India’s national priorities.
Kaushal Rath will play a key role in building public momentum and awareness ahead of the landmark international event.
Focus on Inclusive AI Skilling
Highlighting the broader vision of the IndiaAI Mission, Smt. Kavita Bhatia, Scientist G at MeitY and Chief Operating Officer of the IndiaAI Mission, said skilling is one of the seven core pillars of the programme.
She noted that Kaushal Rath advances the goal of democratising AI education at scale by combining instructor-led training, micro- and nano-credentials, and nationwide outreach.
The initiative aims to ensure that AI skilling becomes accessible to learners across regions, institutions, and academic backgrounds.
Course Highlights and Outreach Goals
The Yuva AI for All course is a four-hour, self-paced programme comprising six comprehensive modules. It requires no prior coding knowledge and focuses on AI concepts, ethics, and real-world applications.
Developed in collaboration with partners such as Future Skills Prime, iGOT Karmayogi, Coursera, and TCS iON, the programme offers certification upon completion, enhancing employability and academic value.
During its Delhi-NCR outreach, Kaushal Rath will facilitate on-the-spot registrations, demonstrate AI use cases, and engage the general public.
Advancing India’s AI Vision
The Kaushal Rath initiative represents a strategic step towards building a future-ready workforce and ensuring responsible AI adoption across society.
By taking AI literacy beyond urban centres and elite institutions, the programme aligns with India’s broader vision of inclusive digital growth and people-centric technological progress.
