He expressed concerns that Khalistani extremists might be exploiting Canada’s freedom of expression laws to avoid accountability.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also condemned the violence, calling it “unacceptable,” while opposition leader Pierre Poilievre echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that Canadians must have the right to practice their faith in peace. Poilievre further assured that the Conservative Party opposes this violence and aims to promote unity and safety.
In response to the incident, Peel Regional Police initially described the event as a “protest” but later confirmed an increased presence to address potential violence or illegal actions.
